November 3 – All Saints Sunday

It’s one of my favorite Sundays of the year – the day we celebrate the saints in our lives.  Now, for those of you with Catholic upbringing, the Lutheran slant on this is a bit different.  We’re each 100% saint/100% sinner.  At the same time.  (Thanks Martin Luther!) Saints are alive and dead.  Saints are full human beings.  So, I ask you, who are the saints in your lives? The ones who have shaped and changed you? The ones who have impacted you beyond measure?

This Sunday, we’ll celebrate these saints of our lives in a few different ways:

  • Bring a picture of someone you consider a saint.
  • Bring a bowl of some kind that has meaning for you — maybe it belonged to someone important to you.  Or maybe it’s just a bowl.  (Whatever.)

We’ll be lighting candles and remembering and talking and praying for and about saints.

See you on Sunday at either 10:30am or 5:30pm.
